This year we have changed our courses slightly: As in the previous five editions, both races will start and cross the stunning Penobscot Narrows Bridge. However, once on Verona Island the 10-Miler will run in the opposite direction of the old course, and finish on Main Street in the heart of downtown Bucksport. The 5k has been shortened to a 3-Miler, and will also finish in downtown Bucksport after running along the new river walk!

We have been working closely Main Street Bucksport, along with race founders Belle & Sue, and we are thrilled to bring this race into downtown Bucksport! In addition to hosting another successful Crow Athletics race, our goals include encouraging runners (and their friends and family) to spend money in this former mill town that is working hard to revitalize itself.

Note: This race has been held for five wonderful years, and 2016 was slated to be the final running. We felt this race was a keeper and simply couldn't let this happen. With Belle & Sue's blessing, Crow Athletics is merely the next caretaker of a truly original Maine event, and we hope you will all come run with us!

The first 300 who register or by March 3 (whichever comes first) will receive a commemorative sublimated beanie at bib pick-up from Atayne, Maine's performance outfitter; inspiring positive environmental and social change through the power of active lifestyles.

Sign up by March 20th to have your name printed on your bib number!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Where can I learn more or ask questions?
Please visit our facebook page HERE for the most pertinent updates.

Can I sign up on day of race?
There is NO day of race registration. All participants MUST sign up in advance. We are going paperless not to mention it is more work for organizers to manually enter day of race data into the race timing and results database, for that reason you must register in advance in order to participate.

When can I pick up my race packet?
There are two options for picking up your race packet:

Saturday: 3:00PM - 6:00PM, Early bib pickup. Bookstacks, 71 Main St., Bucksport, ME

Sunday: 8:00AM-9:15AM, Race day bib pickup. Race parking area, 3 River Road, Bucksport (across Route 15 from the former paper mill)

Can I park at the start?
No. There is NO parking at the start near the bridge. All participants must use one of the options below:
1. Get dropped at the start by private vehicle.
2. Run to the start.
3. Use the provided bus departing from 3 River Road, Bucksport (across Route 15 from the former paper mill)

Where can I park?
The official race parking lot is at 3 River Road, Bucksport (across Route 15 from the former paper mill). Note: The race parking lot is 1/2 mile away from the actual finish line and you can easily walk back to your car. There will not be buses available to take you back to your car after the race.

What time do the shuttle buses to the start operate?
Buses will run from the race parking area to the start area from 8:30AM onward. We do not have the ability to transport everyone at once so please arrive early and take the first buses. Buses will run continuously at approx 20 min intervals.

Is there an indoor place to wait at the start?
The Fort Knox gift shop and restrooms are open at the start so there will be a place to wait inside if you get there early.

What is the age requirement to participate?
All ages are welcome; children must be supervised. All participants must be registered for insurance reasons.

What do I need to know about crossing the bridge?
The race starts on the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. Our lane of the bridge will be closed for the start of the race. Public safety officials need the bridge to be cleared of participants as quickly as possible so that the bridge may be re-opened to traffic. We ask that all participants jog (or fast-walk) to clear the bridge deck as quickly as possible. Do NOT stop on the bridge for any reason! This includes stopping to take photographs. Participants seen lingering on the bridge will risk immediate disqualification. (We are grateful to the state of Maine to be able to cross this iconic bridge. Please respect the wishes of public safety officials.)

How many water stations will there be?
There will be one water station on the 3-Mile race, and at the finish line.
The 10-Mile race will have water stations at approximately 4-miles, 6-miles, 8-miles, and the finish line.

Where are the restrooms located?
Restrooms will be available at the start and at the finish line.

How will the race be timed?
Brewer Race Timing will once again be providing chip-timing services.

What are the awards categories?
