Runners of every ability, whether they are a club member or not, are invited to join us
every Sunday morning, year-round, at the Brown Mountain Gatehouse located on Route 198
just past Hadlock Pond near about a 1 mile from downtown Northeast Harbor. Loops of almost
every distance can be accessed from this starting location. These runs take place on the
famed gravel Carriage Roads of Acadia National Park, or on paved surfaces, depending on
road/weather conditions. Sunday runs start promptly at 8:00am, plan to come early to chat
or stretch. If you want to let us know you are coming or find a running partner please
post a message on our Facebook Page or just show up.
Below are a few Sunday run options arranged by distance. The mileage was taken from
Acadia National Park trail maps and may vary slightly. If you are not be familiar with
the carriage road system we recommend either printing and carrying with you the turn by turn
instructions as seen below, or purchasing a trail map, available at most book stores on MDI. We reccomend the
Map Adventures - Acadia National Park Waterproof Trail Map.
All turns correspond with numbered wooden sign posts located at each intersection.
For example, R @ 18 indicates a RIGHT turn at signpost number 18 and
L @ 20 indicates a LEFT turn at signpost number 20.
Happy Running we hope to see you EVERY Sunday! CAW! CAW! CAW!
