Millinocket Marathon & Half
SEA TO SUMMIT RACE SERIES
Race Series Overview
Millinocket could not RUN without the support of Run MDI!
Did you know that race director Gary Allen founded both the MDI Marathon and the FREE Millinocket Marathon? The same core team produces and manages both events, volunteering their time for Millinocket, which is made possible by the successes of the award-winning MDI races!
The Maine Sea to Summit Race Series is a celebration of the kinship felt between these two magnificent events. Both MDI and Millinocket feature USATF certified marathon and half-marathon courses that may be used to qualify for entry into the Boston Marathon and NYC Marathon.
All Sea to Summit entrants will earn an extra special commemorative medal to be picked up in Millinocket.
Participants may select any distance option offered at either race.
We hope you’ll go all the way by signing up for the Sea to Summit Race Series today!

How do I sign up for the Sea to Summit Race Series?
There is a new registration process for 2025 Sea to Summit:
To sign up for the Sea to Summit Race Series you must first sign up for the Mount Desert Island Marathon/Half/Relay, and then select "Millinocket with Sea to Summit" when registering for Millinocket. (This means that you will need to sign up for MDI and Millinocket seperately.)
Click HERE to be alerted when Millinocket registration opens.
It is the registrant's responsibility to sign up for both MDI and Millinocket.
Please be advised that General Registration for MDI is capped and may close without notice. A limited number of Charity Bibs will be available once General Registration closes.
Important: You must register for both races AND add S2S to your Millinocket registration to officially join the race series.
What if I’m already signed up for Millinocket? Can I add S2S to my registration at a later date?
Yes. If you are already signed up for Millinocket, you may find directions to update your registration and add S2S by clicking HERE.

What happens if my plans change and I am no longer able to run one the races?
Because the Sea to Summit Race Series (S2S) is based on registration data, you will be considered a participant regardless of the status of your finish at either race.
S2S registrations are not eligible for transfers/deferrals/refunds. You may review the race cancellation policy by clicking HERE.
Note: All S2S registrants will have a gold stripe on their Millinocket bib number to identify them for their S2S medal. In the event that you are not able to run MDI, you may contact us prior to November 1st to request that this gold bar be omitted. (If you omit the gold bar, you will not be eligible for an S2S medal.)

Cancellation Policy
The Millinocket Marathon & Half is organized entirely by volunteers who are not compensated for their time. All donations go directly to supporting race expenses and the community. Although there is no formal entry fee to run the Millinocket Marathon & Half, all participants are strongly encouraged to make a donation at the time of registration to support the bare minimum race expenses. These expenses include race timing, course certification, port-a-johns, bus transportation, and insurance. Anything raised above and beyond our essential race expenses will be donated to local charitable groups and organizations. Donations, including optional add-ons, are non-refundable. No exceptions. This no-refund policy is clearly posted and must be agreed to by all entrants at the time of registration. This policy applies to all entrants and is in effect whether the entrant’s plans change, the entrant becomes injured, or if the entrant has an unexpected family emergency / business emergency / medical emergency / or if the entrant is unable to participate for any other reason not already listed above. Once the entrant has made payment they will not receive a refund if they cannot participate, or if the event is canceled because of weather, natural disaster, public health crisis, unforeseen circumstances, or for any other reason not already listed above. (Income generated from donations is almost entirely expended prior to race day.) Race materials will not be mailed. The race committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entries.
